ORGANIZERS FOR THE

Northside 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament & Summit

Butch Johnson
Northside Outreach Center

Northside Outreach Center was formed in 2003 by “Butch” Johnson who was born and raised in Highland Park and lived there until he joined the Army in 1969. He was hired by Henrico Fire Dept and served for 30 years as a firefighter/officer. Sensing a call to return to his old neighborhood, he joined the Richmond Police Department neighborhood intervention, Faith Leaders Initiative (FLI) in 2003.. FLI was designed to galvanize the churches to reduce crime and increase the quality of life for citizens of Richmond. FLI in Highland Park dissolved within six months. However, Butch’s resolve to improve the lives of children and families in Highland Park spurred the creation of this non-profit. He and three other volunteers founded the Northside Outreach Center to provide holistic services that benefit the total person.

Pastor Tim Matthews

2:5 Ministries

So what is 2:5? It's a ministry dedicated to sharing the gospel in engaging ways for all to embrace. John 2:5 is the scripture that has inspired the name and challenges us to follow Jesus. Tim travels wherever opportunities lead him and speaks to anyone willing to listen.

Paul's words in Ephesians 2:1-10 encapsulate the testimony and heart of Tim Matthews. He is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He served as a youth minister for years in his church before feeling the call from the Lord to put his dynamic teaching and preaching gifts to use to reach more people. He is now the Executive Director of 2:5 Ministries, which enables him to travel and share the gospel in engaging ways for all to embrace. He lives in Richmond with his wife, Georgie Matthews, and their daughter Willow

Pastor Manny Pena

Destiny City Fellowship Youth Pastor

At Destiny City Fellowship, we envision sharing the Good News of Christ’s death and resurrection with thousands of un-churched friends and people of all races in the City of Richmond and its surrounding communities many of who accept Him as Savior.

At Destiny City Fellowship, we envision developing people into fully functioning followers of Christ through the word, worship services, Sunday school, and special events.

At Destiny City Fellowship, we envision becoming a church where people model a biblical community: a safe place where we accept one another and are accepted; love and are loved, shepherd and are shepherded, encourage and are encouraged, forgive and are forgiven, and serve and are served.
